Senior / Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Ipsolon Research, Inc. (now a BlueHalo company) in Frederick MD is an engineering company and manufacturer of advanced high-performance Software Defined Radio systems for ultrawideband and phased array radio and sensor solutions.

We have an opening for Senior (or Principal) Embedded Software Engineer. 

Required:

• US citizenship
• You must possess either an active SECRET security clearance (or higher) OR you must be able to obtain a security clearance
• NOTE: this is NOT a remote role. Job location is Frederick, Maryland.

• The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience programming embedded microprocessors, especially ARM variants
• Fundamental knowledge of electronics is desired
• Some background or experience building circuits and/or doing embedded programming projects is highly desired
• We require a minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, math, physics, or computer science
• A master’s degree is preferred

• You have at least 5 years of experience
• You are experienced with embedded Linux and building of Linux from source code
• You have the ability to modify and build embedded Linux operating systems; some experience with OpenEmbedded and Yocto build environments or similar is desired
• Comfortable working with development boards, custom electronics, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers, and general lab equipment
• Embedded C/C++ and Python programming
• Linux and Git development environment
• FPGA experience or interest
• Ability to read electronic circuit schematics
• Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills

You could also have this:

• ISR and DMA experience highly desired
• If you have experience with Linux device driver, that's a plus
• DSP and experience with MATLAB, Simulink or Octave desired
• SDR and/or Gnu Radio desired

Principle level also requires the following additional experience:

• 6+ year experience + master’s degree
• Solid technical leadership
• SDR and DSP experience
