You’d like to do this

We are seeking a highly skilled senior level Systems Engineer (SE) to join our team and contribute to designing and constructing DoD system models in support of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) based studies, analyses, and war games. The successful candidate will work with a team of engineers and scientists to collect/research requirements, document design, integrate and test models of Directed Energy (DE) systems and support systems into mission level M&S.

 

Responsibilities:

Provide system engineering expertise throughout the lifecycle of M&S efforts in support of DE studies, analyses, and war games.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Developing system level requirements for Software and M&S Engineers to develop DE and non-DE system models in support of mission level studies, analyses, and war games.  Draw from operational experience, interactions with customers/stakeholders, interactions with operational personnel, technical interchanges with scientists and engineers, and/or applied research.

- Supporting system design with Software and M&S Engineers.  Ensure that customer needs are met, simulation fidelity meets required levels, assist with documentation of M&S limitations, constraints, and assumptions.

- Developing and executing system level testing on M&S implementations.  Ensuring that the system level models perform and interact as expected and meet the needs of the customers/stakeholders.

- Supporting/Developing documentation from Requirements Descriptions and Plans to Final Reports.

You’re required to have this

- Must have a Systems Engineering or STEM degree and 7+ years of operational/military experience in a related career field.

- Must be a U.S. citizen and have a Secret security clearance.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- This position is on-site at Kirtland AFB and will require some travel.

 

Desired:

- Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and MBSE tools is a plus.

- Experience with DE systems is desirable but can be trained.

- Desire experience with Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) simulation.
