BlueHalo is seeking an experienced Systems Test Engineer for multiple programs within the Space Technologies division.  The Space Technologies division falls under the BlueHalo Labs sector.

The Space Technologies division has been developing the techniques, systems, subsystems, and design elements required to implement high reliability optomechanical and electrical systems. The systems test engineer is a key member of an integrated team operating in a very dynamic environment.

The candidate will work across engineering disciplines to help define V&V statements, develop SW for automated tests and provide overall systems support for multiple programs.

Essential Functions

  • Work within the systems test team to refine System/Subsystem requirement verification statements and verification cross-reference matrices to ensure the requirements are testable
  • Work with the systems engineering and systems test teams to design test strategies for System/Subsystem/Assembly level requirements using the JAMA requirements management tool (and other requirements management approaches)
  • Develop and design hardware and software for automated test equipment as well as supporting existing systems
  • Operate/communicate with embedded systems, electrical and mechanical engineers, as well as analysts
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve system test design automation, integration, SIL integration, and off-site tests
  • Work with the Systems Team to ensure proper requirement Verification and Validation methodology and execution
  • Support the generation and execution of the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) Plan\
  • Operate environmental test equipment including rate and vibration tables, thermal and thermal vacuum chambers
  • Support the generation of analysis methods and test reports
  • Support failure investigation, troubleshooting, and resolutions

Work Environment

This job operates in professional and secure office and laboratory environment.  This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and other equipment as needed.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

You’re required to have this

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in (Engineering or Physics) with 4 – 8 years of experience or master’s degree (Engineering or Physics) with 2 – 6 years of experience
  • Experience in automated control and measurement systems
  • Experience in System design, Verification, and Validation
  • Experience testing performance of systems in a cleanroom environment
  • Experience developing integration and test plans and reports
  • Experience in environmental testing
  • Experience in signal processing
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret/Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2+ years Systems Test Engineering Experience
  • Experience with Flight hardware, Cleanroom environment, Simulink, Matlab, Python, and JAVA
