Overview

BlueHalo is currently looking for a talented electrical engineer with circuit-level RF design experience. The engineer must be able to allocate requirements, interact with other members of the technical staff, perform circuit-level and board-level RF design, schematic entry, components research and selection, component engineering, engineering analyses, printed wiring board layout and routing, engineering documentation, and design reviews. The engineer must understand the overall engineering process, from design kick-off to production; and must be capable of interacting with the various disciplines involved in production of a product. The engineer is responsible for digital logic, analog interfacing, embedded systems, low-level programming, and device driver design and development. Knowledge of RF communications is helpful. The engineer is expected to provide advice and guidance to entry-level members of the development staff.

Responsibilities

Experience in:

  • Microwave antenna design and concept development, prototyping and fabrication, evaluation and measurement, for enclosures with challenging space constraints and project requirements.
  • EMI/EMC in telecommunications and consumer electronics, co-site RF interference (RFI), interference detection and mitigation with existing radiators.
  • Analysis, simulation and synthesis for circuit-, chip-, and board-level analog design problems.
  • Field-solvers, synthesis, and layout tools such as ADS, Altium, pSpice, Genesys, CST.
  • Antenna prototyping and fabrication, including LPKF printed antennas.
  • EMI and co-site RFI mitigation and design techniques.

Knowledge of:

  • Physical and protocol layers of wireless systems, including cellular (GSM, WCDMA and LTE), WLAN and Bluetooth, low power WPAN (Zigbee, LoRa, 802.15.4), SATCOM (GPS, Iridium, other LEO/MEO).
  • Telecommunications standards, wireless test and measurement equipment
  • RF propagation and link budgeting in urban and indoor environments.
  • Commercially available RF components, including filters, oscillators, amplifiers, and software-defined-radios (SDRs).

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for obtaining government security clearance.
  • B.S. Degree in EE/CS and a minimum of 4-5 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
