Overview

Blue Halo’s RF-CUAS Group designs, develops, and manufactures the Titan C-UAS system to provide clients real-time protection of life, property, and sensitive infrastructure. Titan systems are deployed across the globe, with a rapidly expanding footprint resulting from a technologically innovative solution that is attentive to all aspects of the user experience.

 

The ideal candidate for the Senior EE/RF Engineer position will possess a strong technical background, with demonstrated skills in the design, development, troubleshooting, and integration of RF and electronic systems in a production environment. This role will contribute significantly to ongoing R&D and continuous performance improvement of our C-UAS system, with involvement in the product’s full engineering life cycle and a direct impact on real-world efficacy of critical systems.

The role’s responsibilities include RF/Microwave PCB design, development of requirements and test plans, data measurement and collection, and in-field T&E activities. A primary goal for the position is to lead the transition of hardware to production through effectively leveraging technical staff as well as contract manufacturer relationships.

This position also requires the advanced communication and interpersonal skills needed to be a senior member of a fast-moving technical team, ensuring the successful completion of production milestones within established performance criteria.

Responsibilities

 

  • PCB/Module-Level engineering and design validation and qualification testing (EVT/DVT/PVT)
  • Supporting hardware transition to production
  • Preparation of test plans and design documents
  • Lead R&D activities, coordinating with leadership, peers, procurement, and junior staff
  • Liaise with our contract & fabrication manufacturers
  • Location/Schedule: Our San Diego facility, regular business hours

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience / combined education with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of experience with a related MS
  • Proficiency in RF & microwave design, prototyping, and testing
  • Hands-on experience with integration, test, and troubleshooting of RF electronics
  • Proficiency with equipment test hardware (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Experience with developing test procedures and data reports
  • PCB design & schematic software (Eagle, SolidWorks, Altium)
  • Proficiency with soldering down to 0402 component size and repair/rework of SMT components
  • Must be a US Citizen with appropriate identification
