Responsibilities

BlueHalo is seeking talented and innovative individuals who posess  electrical engineering backgrounds with experience in embedded hardware and mixed signal electrical design. Working as a team-member of the Embedded Systems Group, the candidate will be responsible for the design, simulation, manufacture/procurement, testing, and integration of electronic PCB assemblies, cabling, and electrical systems all while working in multi-disciplinary teams.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Schematic capture & Printed circuit board design
  • Fluency in circuit design & simulation
  • Electrical circuit test and troubleshooting
  • Cable and wiring harness design
  • Electrical system design, assembly, integration, and test support
  • Embedded system architecture and design
  • Support Documentation and Test Procedures
  • Occasionally travel will be required to support project needs, both locally during the day and out-of-area overnight.

 Core Competencies:

  • Schematic & PCB capture software - Altium Designer strongly preferred.
  • Printed circuit board layout with 8-20 layers and controlled impedances.
  • Experience with mixed signal circuit card design and simulation, including devices such amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, digital functions, microprocessors, and point-of-load regulators.
  • Understanding of common communications interfaces, including RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, I2C, LVDS, and Ethernet.
  • Experience using common electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers, and function generators.

Desired Competencies:

  • Experience with high-speed circuit design, simulation, and layout.
  • Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) or System-on-Chip (SoC) devices.
  • Experience with programming languages including C, C++, VHDL, and MATLAB scripting.
  • Use of Microsoft Visio for creating cable and wiring drawings.
  • Wiring and cabling of integrated systems.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline from an accredited four-year university.
  • 3-5 years of experience with embedded electronics design, integration, and testing.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline accredited four-year university.
  • 7-10 years of experience with embedded electronics design, integration, and testing.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Have an active security clearance.
